So If you don’t want homeless sex offenders on the streets then put them in a complex for RSO’s and have the State pay for it. Help Rehab and find jobs for them like helping to clean up the streets garbage, painting the walls, gardening, etc… Why fear when the homeless are homeless because there is no where for them to go Duh !
The public wants to be safe from RSO’s and RSO’s want to SURVIVE this initial period in which their life will never be the same. Help them to not re-offend by creating at least a little security in a home environment that makes the public happy as well. We all know this costs money but if the public safety is the issue then put homeless people in a home and help them sort out the crap the are in.
There have been projects for alcoholics that take them off the street and give them an apartment and alcohol. Guess what happens in about a year or so…. They start to drink less and start to care about life. After a while they want to work and be a productive citizen again.
There is no perfect solution but doing the same thing and getting the same result is maddening and not productive for anyone.
I have hope that we will as a group learn from our no RSO’s to find a compromise that helps narrow the gap between RSO’s and the general public.
